If you have been into the library this week, you may have seen or met Miss Jenni. Jenni is the newest addition to the Columbus Public Library staff. She is our new Youth Services Director and joins us from California, where she was a children's librarian at the South San Francisco Public Library. Miss Jenni loves LEGOs, Star Wars, and Harry Potter, and she really loves reading stories with kids! Her favorite dinosaur is the stegosaurus, and she is looking forward to meeting you at the library!
Columbus’ own Mary Lou Sharpee is the Columbia County Library Advocate of 2016! During the library’s Friday Night Out celebration, Mary Lou was honored for her achievement and received her award from Columbia County Library Board Trustee Judy Eulberg.
Mary Lou is more than deserving of this award. She is a retired teacher who taught in the area. She spends countless hours helping and tutoring people with their literacy needs. She also is the President of the Columbus Literacy Council and is a member of the Columbus Public Library Board of Trustees.
The library is very delighted that Mary Lou received this award for all the hard work she puts into this community and the Literacy Council. Thank you Mary Lou for everything you do and congratulations on your award!
The Columbus Journal has also has a very nice article on Mary Lou in the paper. Click here to read the article.
