Returning to the workforce? Get To Work is here to help!

The Columbus Public Library is responding to a need in the community by presenting a pair of workshops for adults returning to the work force or changing career paths.

“Get To Work, Parts 1 and 2” is geared for those who need assistance working with a computer to revise an outdated resume or beginning the search for a new job.

The first workshop has already happened.

Thursday, May 9, at 6:30 PM: The second workshop, “Polish It Up,” will focus on fine-tuning the resume and making it stand out for a potential employer. Emphasis will be on determining your worth to a potential employer and learning how to highlight your talents and abilities on your resume. Attendance at the Part 1 session not required for the second session.

Presenter Tracy Carbonara is a recruitment and outreach specialist at Employment and Training Association Inc. “Throughout my career I have always enjoyed working with people and helping them make personal strides towards positive change,” Tracy said. She is looking forward to sharing her expertise with others to help them meet their employment goals.

“Get To Work: Getting Started” will be presented on Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 PM. The second session, “Get To Work: Polish It Up” will be presented on Thursday, May 9, also at 6:30 PM. Both workshops will take place at the Columbus Public Library Annex, which is located next door to the library at 251 W. James Street in Columbus.

All are welcome to attend.
