Summer Programs

The Summer Reading Program is here!

This year we are moving the summer reading program to a website/app called Beanstack. There are challenges for all ages, and the site/app makes it super easy to log your reading and track your progress. You can visit the Beanstack website or download the app to register. You are able to register as an individual, a family, or classroom account.

With the current health concerns around large gatherings of people, all library programs will be done virtually through the summer. Programs will be posted on Facebook (@ColPubLib) for the morning of the date listed unless a specific time is listed. We will also post links to the videos here. Check weekly for new programs.

All videos can be found on the Columbus Public Library's YouTube page.

Science Tellers - "Dragons" Return of the Ice Sorceress"
Long, long ago, two kids go on a daring adventure to find a dragon and save the kingdom from the Ice Sorceress! When things don’t go as planned, however, they must turn to themselves (and to science!) for the answer. A fun fantasy adventure with dry ice effects!

Scratch Art
Miss Bethany demonstrates how to make your own scratch art at home.

Bubble Day
Follow along with Bethany as she shows you how to make your own bubble solution and bubble wand. If you want to try it yourself, stop by the library and grab a kit! We have the dish soap, sugar, and pipe cleaners ready to go. The dish soap bottle has a bit extra in case you want to try it again.

Little Red Riding Hood STEM Project
The last time Little Red Riding Hood went to Grandmother's house, it was dangerous! Watch Miss Bethany make a simple basket and figure out a way to deliver goods to Grandma without Little Red having to go through the woods herself.

Regular Programs

The health and safety of our patrons and staff is of utmost concern to the Columbus Public Library. With that in mind, the Library Board has decided that all library programs will be done virtually through the summer.
