A book club for books that have been made into movies and are available in regular print and large print formats. 

You may join using a smart phone, laptop, reader, or computer. 

This month's book and movie is Howards End by E.M. Forster

E. M. Forster’s meticulously observed drama of class warfare exploring the conflict inherent within English society. A chance acquaintance brings together the preposterous bourgeois Wilcox family and the clever, cultured and idealistic Schlegel sisters.  Forster sets in motion a chain of events that will entangle three different families, he brilliantly portrays their aspirations to personal and social harmony. The 1910 novel that established Forster’s reputation as an important writer, and that he himself later referred to as “my best novel.” The movie stars Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. –Penguin/Random House

We will watch the 1992 movie version directed by James Ivory and staring Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson and Vanessa Redgrave (rated PG).
