TOMORROW!! DUNK A LIBRARIAN! The Summer Library Celebration is almost here!

Next week marks the end of the Summer Reading Program and it has been a good race to the finish between the two teams, Adults & Teen and the Kids & Tweens. The teams have battled back and forth for the lead, and with one week left to go, the Adults & Teens are in the lead. We will see if the Kids & Tweens can pull through from behind for the win!

We will be bringing the Summer Reading Program to an end with the Summer Library Celebration next Tuesday, July 26 from 4-6pm on the library lawn. This all-ages event will have...

Meet Miss Jenni!

If you have been into the library this week, you may have seen or met Miss Jenni. Jenni is the newest addition to the Columbus Public Library staff. She is our new Youth Services Director and joins us from California, where she was a children's librarian at the South San Francisco Public Library. Miss Jenni loves LEGOs, Star Wars, and Harry Potter, and she really loves reading stories with kids! Her favorite dinosaur is the stegosaurus, and she is looking forward to meeting you at the library!

Celebrating Mary Lou Sharpee

Columbus’ own Mary Lou Sharpee is the Columbia County Library Advocate of 2016! During the library’s Friday Night Out celebration, Mary Lou was honored for her achievement and received her award from Columbia County Library Board Trustee Judy Eulberg.

Mary Lou is more than deserving of this award. She is a retired teacher who taught in the area. She spends countless hours helping and tutoring people with their literacy needs. She also is the President of the Columbus Literacy Council and is a member of the Columbus Public Library Board of Trustees.

The library is very delighted that Mary Lou received this award for all the hard work she puts into this community and the Literacy Council. Thank you Mary Lou for everything you do and congratulations on your award!

The Columbus Journal has also has a very nice article on Mary Lou in the paper. Click here to read the article.

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

With a husband she barely knew, a young bride arrives at an immense estate, only to be drawn into the life of the first Mrs. de Winter, the beautiful Rebecca, dead but never forgotten. It was all still there, her suite of rooms never touched, her clothes ready to be worn, and her servant—the sinister Mrs. Danvers—still loyal. With a feeling of evil tightened around her heart, the second Mrs. de Winter began her search for the real fate of Rebecca...for the secrets of Manderley.
