Columbus Public Library Houses History in an Historic Carnegie Building

In November 1912, the beautiful Prairie Design building at the corner of West James Street and Dickason Boulevard was erected to be Columbus’ brand new Public Library. It was a gem then, as it is now, 100 years later.

To commemorate the Centennial, we are adding a Columbus Local History Collection to the library’s holdings. This historical collection will be a permanent collection available for generations to come. It will be easy to access and will showcase particular items of interest . . ..
