The Columbus Public Library is open six days a week. Visit our Hours and Closings page to learn about our open hours and when we'll be closing for holidays.
We are located in a historic Carnegie library building at 223 West James Street and are proud of our history that stretches back to 1887. Services offered include community events and programs, public access computers, and a lending collection of books, movies, music, and magazines for all ages. Visit our Policies and Library Services pages to learn more.
In 2015 the Library Board of Trustees adopted a strategic plan with four main priority areas: Communication, Programming, Welcoming Environment and Physical Space.
In a nutshell, your library will continue providing a warm and welcoming environment and great programming. We are pursuing additional and augmented means to communicate our upcoming programs and services to our community. Most importantly, we are out of space in our beautiful 1912 Carnegie building and need to remedy the problem.
